Can I purchase the discounted upgrade of Adobe CS5 without actually owning it in the first place?
Melanie Nadolski asked:
I really want to get CS5 for school but its so darn expensive!!!!
Does anyone think that its possible for me to purchase the discounted CS5 without already having any Adobe suites downloaded on my computer previously? There wouldn’t be any conflicts, would there? Has anyone else tried this? I mean…come on, $1,899 or $599? What would you choose?

What laptop computer is the best one for running Adobe CS5?
celtic_tiger_amd asked:
I am a 2nd term graphic design student in San Antonio and getting ready to purchase my first laptop and design software set. I’m going for the new Adobe CS5 but I don’t know what laptop I should get. I definitely want to stay on a PC system rather than a MAC. My funds are rather limited, however. I can’t go over $1100. Refurbished is definitely an option, I just don’t know what brand/type to go with.

Can a Macbook Pro handle multiple Adobe CS5 programs at once?
Stella asked:
I’m considering purchasing a MacBook Pro 17″.
I’m a graphic design student and I was wondering if this laptop has the power to seamlessly run the Adobe CS5 applications (InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator/Flash/Dr… All at once? If not, how many? How should I configure the laptop as far as memory and hard drive capacity? Would you recommend the iMac instead? Any help appreciated.

What is the difference between a graphics card with a 64MB dedicated video memory to those with 128MB?
asked:
I usually heard about some people laptops whose graphics card have a 64MB dedicated video memory with at least 1GB shared memory, as some has 128MB dedicated with around 800MB-1GB shared memory especially if it was from the same graphics card. I know that 64MB or 128MB may be too little for today’s gaming but i just want to know the difference or changes that are expected.

How do I tell if a laptop can use dedicated graphics cards?
funit49 asked:
I’m looking to buy a laptop, and I want to buy one with a ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 graphics card. How do I know if my laptop can take graphics cards and that it doesn’t have an integrated card that I can’t upgrade?
Okay, so what would be a good laptop to get if I wanted to play–let’s say atleast Half-Life 2. Like I’m looking for a decent graphics card…not too high end, but not low end either. What most people would get.

How to change the graphics card in my hp artist edition and which graphics card would be best?
Christopher C asked:
I have hp artist edition dv2800t notebook. The graphics card currently in it is not integrated. I wanted to know where I could take it to change out the card and which card would best fit that has 256 dedicated memory or more. Again the card currently in it is not integrated and I want to know where I can take it to get a better card and which card would be best.
Also the graphics card is not built in. If you look the card up it is similar to a regular desktop graphics card.

Is there any way to increase laptop graphics performance without upgrading the graphics card?
bcarl6 asked:
I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop with 4 gigs of ram. Now, this is nice, but I also want to use my laptop for gaming. It has a crappy integrated graphics card, so it is not that good for games. Is there any software that can boost the graphics performance of my laptop (free or paid). Thanks so much in advance, I really need something because I’m not about to go out and buy a new laptop.

What graphics specification do I need to be able to play Flight Simulator on my laptop?
Ben H asked:
My son has Microsoft’s Flight Simulator Deluxe Edition. I need to buy him a new laptop so he can play it! I’m a bit confused as to what specifications I need to be able to get this game to play. I’m not after mega-good graphics, just enough so the 11-year old can play his PC game. I’m thinking of a 3GB machine but do I need one with a specific graphics card?

Do cell phones and laptop computers automatically cut off the electricity supply when they get fully charged?
Rishabh Singla asked:
A friend of mine told me that one should disconnect the charger of a mobile phone or a notebook computer after they’re fully charged else the battery would get overcharged (hence damaged, shortening its life). I am of the belief that most cellphones and portable computers already cut-off the electricity supply to the device upon completion of charging, and there is no need to worry about overcharging.

What is the truth? Any other suggestions?

What is the best and most reliable brand of notebook computers?
dreamclock asked:
I’ve had bad experience with HP, toshiba, and gateway in the past so I’m pretty wary of getting another one of those. Or have those brand name computers improved?

I want to free space on 1 computer but still access my files w/ both computers, is a portable hard drive good?
K asked:
I have a lot of files on one of my laptops that I don’t use all the time, but would still like to access easily. I would also like to access them easily from my other laptop. Can I do this with a portable hard drive? Will it work on both computers? Can I move files to the hard drive and then back to the computer if I want?
